How it works:
*Contact us to book your day in Edinburgh.
*Approximately 2 weeks before your day we will order your raw metal (don't worry - we will help every step of the way!). You can choose from 'D-shape', 'Oval', 'Flat' or 'Round' section rings, in 9ct or 18ct white or yellow gold.
*When you arrive your raw materials and your jeweller will be waiting for you. We will take you step-by-step through the making processes. We'll give you demonstrations, guidance, assistance and supervision at every stage.
*At the end of the day you will take home a shimmering pair of beautiful hand made wedding rings, boxed, polished and ready for your special day.

Cost:
It costs £250 for your exclusive use of the studio for the day, including all tools and expertise. Additional to this is the cost of your raw material, which varies depending on which metal you choose. We can discuss material costs and options before you make your booking.
As an extra we can organise hallmarking and engraving on request. Please ask for details.

Your experience:
The day starts at 10am with a nice cup of tea or coffee and an introduction (and maybe a biscuit).
We then start creating your rings, and your tutor will demonstrate and guide you through each stage. By lunchtime you will have your basic soldered and shaped rings.
A delicious lunch will be provided at 1pm, after which you start the work of filing, finishing and polishing your rings.
The work will end with a glass of bubbly, and a glance through the photographs we've taken to document your day - which you can take away on a CD. Prove to your disbelieving friends and family that you actually made these professional looking rings yourself - and something unusual for the wedding album.

Who we are:
Donna Barry is a jewellery designer/maker who has been in business for seven years since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art. Most of the week you will find her working in her studio at Coburg House Studios where she produces all her jewels. These range from large one-off pieces for special exhibitions, to smaller wearables for galleries and shops all over the UK.
Hannah Louise Lamb has been in business for seven years and studied way out west at Glasgow School of Art. After doing an MA in London and a couple of years teaching, she joined Coburg House Studios and set up her business designing and making jewellery to commission and for exhibitions.
